Topic: Introduction to Bankruptcy
Date and Time: Tuesday, May 25, 2021 12:00 pm am Eastern
Description: In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic caused the US economy to experience its largest surge in bankruptcy filings since the 2008 financial crisis, affecting multiple industries. In addition, many experts predict a wave of bankruptcies to hit later in 2021 as pandemic relief options are due to expire. In this seminar, we will cover key bankruptcy concepts including an introduction to Chapters 7 and 11, the automatic stay provisions, avoidance of liens, priority of claims, debtor-in-possession financing, section 363 sales, and important considerations when representing secured creditors.
