Sarah Allison

Sarah Allison is an associate attorney at Skarzynski Marick & Black LLP in New York, where she focuses her practice on representing government contractors and their insurers before the United States Department of Labor in defense of claims arising under the Defense Base Act extension of the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act. Previously, Sarah practiced insurance defense litigation resulting from premises liability and personal injury in New York.

A native of Belfast, County Antrim, Sarah obtained her law degree from Northumbria University. Sarah was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2018. Before relocating to New York, Sarah’s prior experience extended to commercial matters for global corporate clients in an international law firm in Belfast. Sarah has provided pro bono representation to clients before welfare and social security appeal tribunals, and volunteered with a human rights law firm in Belfast focused on the protection of civil liberties and promotion of human rights through access to justice.

Sarah is actively involved in the Irish community in New York, and she is a member of Women with Ambition, a professional network for Irish and Irish American women in New York. Sarah was recognized in the 2024 Edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America® for Insurance Law.
